The Best Oatmeal Cookies

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies are the perfect November treat. They not only taste like a cozy, blanket wrapped afternoon, but make your home smell deliciously of vanilla, cinnamon, and cloves.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies from the little crinkled recipe card with no name on it

  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup of raisins
  • 1 TSP vanilla
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 1 cup of butter
  • 2 1/2 cups of unbleached flour
  • 1 TSP cinnamon
  • 1/2 TSP cloves
  • 1 TSP baking soda
  • 1 TSP baking powder
  • 2 cups rolled oats

1. Prepare the raisins by soaking them in the vanilla and egg for 1 hour.

2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

3. Cream the butter and sugars.

4. Sift the flour, spices, baking soda and baking power into the creamed butter mixture. Stir in the raisin mixture and the oats. Mix well.

5. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. When they are cool enough to handle, eat and enjoy!

These cookies freeze well and are an excellent gift!
