Happy Valentine’s Day, friends! If you are in search of just one last educational Valentine’s Day activity before moving into spring (please spring, come soon!), then I have one for you.
These Valentine Pattern Blocks were simple to put together. I placed felt heart stickers (A.C. Moore) on every side of unfinished wooden blocks (Hobby Lobby), and invited the boys to create patterns with them.
These blocks (which provide a sensory experience because of the 2 different textures) can also be used to reinforce color recognition and to refine motor skills (stacking and building). They are an excellent, open-ended prop for creative play. Best of all, they are just cute and fun!
How would you and your child play with them?
